Tomorrow’s Halloween!!

Well tomorrow is the big day!! Can’t you just smell the scent of caramel apples, popcorn balls, and super sweet chocolate? Oh the joys of Halloween….If your a child, its all about excitement of dressing up as whatever you want, going with your parents and walking the streets collecting as much candy as  you can (and hopefully more than you can eat in one night), and staying up as late as possible. For adults, its sharing a wonderful memory with your kids, spook houses, and halloween parties with friends and family. And scary movies of course. Last night for my husband and I, it was The Lost Boys. Other than the Twilight series, which I am absolutely crazy about, this is my favorite vampire movie of all time. It was also my first. If you haven’t ever watched it, you are missing out.

The Lost Boys features an all star cast including: Jason Patric, Corey Haim, Corey Feldman, Kiefer Sutherland, and Dianne West. Financial troubles force a recent divorcee (West) and her teenage sons Mike ( Patric)and Sam (Haim) to settle down with her father in the California town of Santa Carla. At first, Sam laughs off rumours he hears about vampires who inhabit the small town. But after Mike meets a beautiful girl at the local amusement park, he begins to exhibit the classic signs of vampirism. Fearing for his own safety, Sam recruits two young vampire hunters (Feldman and Jason Newlander) and to save his brother by finding and destroying the head vampire.

I remember watching this movie as a kid and I love it just as much now as I did then. Not your typical “scary” movie, it has some suspenseful aspects and a great cast of characters. But that’s just my opinion. I am, and always have been, rather partial to vampires. They live forever (for the most part), are super fast and talented, and they have such a BITE!
